WANG NAM KHIAO AGROTOURISM COMMUNITY ENTERPRISE, NAKORN RATCHASIMA, 2-DAYS

If you love quality agricultural products and are looking for a comprehensive and enlightening agrotourism trip, then look no further: check out Wang Nam Khiao Agrotourism Community Enterprise, Nakorn Ratchasima. That is because we can learn about the local way of life here as well as agrotourism in various agricultural attractions, including at combined seasonal vegetable and fruit plantations, animal farms, Arabica and Robusta coffee plantations, a mulberry orchard, and even a vineyard. This was a fun and comprehensive agrotourism activity in terms of various tours within the two-day-one-night trip.

We began our trip at De Wag Hip Homestay, where we enjoyed a fun, creative hat-painting activity. Then, we had lunch as prepared by D-Hope Community, Thai Pattana village, with well-known must-try dishes such as rice noodles with mushroom curry and grilled glutinous rice wrapped in banana leaves.

After we were satisfied with the shopping spree, it was time to take a tour around D-HOPE Community in Thai Pattana village. We rode a convertible vehicle to harvest organic vegetables at the local plantation. We used the harvested vegetables as the ingredients for our cooking class activity, with some local vegan dishes on the menu. We cooked and ate the food ourselves; it was fun, delicious, and healthy. Then, we headed back to our accommodation to get some rest to prepare for the following day. The second day of the trip started with the alms-giving ritual for peace of mind and good luck at Huay Krabok reservoir. We had breakfast, with the signature breakfast menu from D-Hope Community, Thai Pattana village, namely Wang Nam Khiao’s local delicious mushroom porridge and other traditional signatures dishes. After we were full, we moved on to Mae Nui’s fermented mushroom sausage factory to view the place in the middle of the flower fields.

After that, we visited Baan Phra Angkarn Pineapple Orchard, the largest pineapple plantation in Nakorn Ratchasima, and saw various types of pineapples with different colors. Next, we learned how to grow organic melons and enjoyed tasting as well as shopping for fresh and processed produce at Rakjung Melon Farm in Wang Nam Khiao. It was so enjoyable that we bought lots of products before realizing it.

We visited and learned at the largest mushroom house in Northeast Thailand at Wang Nam Khiao Farm. We also shopped for some products and received homemade box snacks. Then, we headed to Fah Pratan Farm. We rode a tram around the combined vegetable farm, vineyard, and Arabica and Robusta coffee plantations of seemingly infinite space. We visited Suan Mae Mon, saw the mulberry plantation, and learned how vanilla trees were planted. Then, we had lunch with delicious farm-to-table dishes at the end of the trip. In the late afternoon, it was time to leave for Bangkok with plenty of energy. The 2-days-1-night trip at Wang Nam Khiao Agrotourism Community Enterprise, Nakorn Ratchasima, was very worthwhile. We got to learn about and experience nature both inside and outside. The trip was physically and mentally fulfilling, or, we could say, refreshing for both mind and body.
