Mrs. Diana McIntyre-Pike is a Hospitality & Tourism Consultant/Trainer specializing in community tourism and small hotel operations (having owned and operated a small hotel for over 40 years). She owns her own organization called Countrystyle Community Tourism Network (CCTN) which provides Consultancy services in hospitality and tourism, marketing and PR and Community Experience tours designing. She assisted in developing and proposing the Jamaica Community Tourism Project which was funded by the Caribbean HRD Programme for Economic Competitiveness (CPEC- a CIDA funded project) and was the Lead Consultant. She is resident in Mandeville Jamaica and focusing on the marketing and development of the Countrystyle VILLAGES AS BUSINESSES PROJECT in collaboration with the National Best Community Foundation (NBCF) and local and international educational institutions to provide hospitality and tourism training directly in communities and also to individuals, groups and organizations locally and internationally interested in community tourism education and developing a database of viable community-based business projects to promote to potential investors and grant funding agencies. She is the President for the first chapter outside USA (The Caribbean chapter) of the International Institute of Peace through tourism (IIPT) and also the Co-ordinator of the IIPT International Community Tourism Network which involves over 70 countries. She was the Community Tourism Chairman/Consultant for the National Best Community Foundation’s National Best Community Competition and programme management committee. She is past Co-Chairman of Unique Jamaica & past Chairman of the Unique Jamaica Responsible Tourism & Product Committee (which is presently My Jamaica Travels), past Chairman of NCTVET Central & South Region Committee, Past Council Member of the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association and past Area Chairman of the JHTA South Coast area (for over 19 years), Past Director of the Caribbean Hotel Association (1979 – 2002); past Chairman of UTECH’s School of Hospitality and Tourism, where she assisted to spearhead the establishment of the diploma and degree programmes and the implementation of the on campus Lilian’s Restaurant, past Public Relations Officer & Chairman of the Tourism, PR & Membership Committee of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce. She is also a Board Director of the Manchester Wellness Foundation (MANWELL) .She is involved in many other community organizations and is committed to the sustainable development of communities in Jamaica and throughout the Caribbean. She has worked in hotels in England, Germany and Jamaica and has pioneered internationally “Community Tourism” and through the IIPT which has now been embraced by many other countries. Together with her partners, she introduced it to the eastern Caribbean especially, Anguilla, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Trinidad Barbados, St. Eustatius and Cuba. She now has an accredited Community Tourism Hospitality Entrepreneurship 5 day training programme in partnership with the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus through her Academy for Community Tourism (ACT). works in partnership with one of Jamaica’s leading tour operators Caribic Vacations/Olympia tours. As Chairman of the Caribbean Hotel Association’s (which is now renamed the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association) Small Hotels Committee for eight years, she executed many projects for the small hotels of the Caribbean, including the creation of the Annual Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) Small Hotels Retreat and the Small Hotels Study Tour programme.. The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) contracted her in 2013 for a two month assignment to present niche marketing through community-based tourism to over 10 Caribbean countries which was followed by a 15 member delegation participating in a Community Tourism Study tour and conference in Mandeville Jamaica with the them ‘Sustaining & Transforming Communities through Tourism Entrepreneurship’ which was in collaboration with the IIPT Caribbean and the Countrystyle Community Tourism Network/Villages as Businesses. She holds two diplomas in hotel management, catering and tourism from Cambridgeshire College, Cambridge England and Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft, Germany, and a certificate in Environmental studies from George Washington University, USA. Mrs. McIntyre-Pike has over 44 years professional experience in the hospitality industry and was awarded a City & Guilds Fellowship (Masters Degree) in Tourism Management and a BSc Honorary Degree Award in Hospitality Management from the Western Hospitality Institute, Montego Bay Jamaica. Her expertise is in marketing, public relations, hotel and catering, motivational speaking, training and development of personnel in hospitality and tourism and sustainable community tourism. In Jamaica and the Caribbean region she has trained and developed several communities in self-development including etiquette, environment and general knowledge on a voluntary and professional basis and is now a full time Hospitality and Tourism Consultant/Trainer. The International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT) has branded Jamaica and the Caribbean ‘the Home of Community Tourism’ due to her pioneering efforts and created the IIPT International Community Tourism Network with her as the world Coordinator. She has created the Africa Community Tourism Network and more recently from the community tourism entrepreneurship training in Barbados in 2017, assisting to create the Barbados Community Tourism Network. Her vision is to establish in each country Community Tourism Networks with Community Tourism Centres for communities and visitors to include: information on community culture, heritage etc, internet facilities, community theatre and museum with the first one being in Mandeville Jamaica which is the first IIPT Peace Town with the first Peace Park in the Caribbean and with Treasure Beach as the first Peace Village in the Caribbean. Creating IIPT Peace Villages and Peace Towns in all Caribbean countries is an ongoing project. Her company Countrystyle was given an award from Islands Magazine as one of 100 selected organizations in the world for Responsible tourism in 2007 which was featured in their December 2007 publication and also in 2009 as one of the top 20 companies in the World for Responsible leadership Tourism Award for the Countrystyle Community Experience packages. She received The Virgin Islands International Responsible Tourism Award jointly with Jane Ashton from TUI Travel UK for the best Personal Contribution internationally at the World Travel Market, London on November 12 2008 which was in recognition of her 35 years of work
in pioneering community tourism worldwide. She was awarded the National Order of Distinction (OD) in Tourism and Community Service in 2009 and inducted into the Hamilton Knight & Associates Career Hall of Fame. In October 2011, she was selected as one of the 50 World Experts in Sustainable Tourism by UNESCO to attend their World Heritage and Sustainable Tourism Experts meeting in Switzerland where she introduced the Countrystyle Villages as Businesses programme which was well received. In 2012 , she was given a Community Tourism award as one of the 50 Women in Jamaica given recognition in their respective fields from the Women’s Bureau Jamaica on celebrating the International Women’s Day and in July 2012, she was presented with the President’s Distinguished Service Award for Community Tourism. In 2013, she was given a Life time Award for her work in community tourism from the International Institute for Peace through tourism (IIPT) In 2015, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the African Tourism Diaspora in Atlanta and appointed the African cultural Heritage Ambassador for Jamaica. She received the Global Tourism Award from the Wheatle Peart Branding Organization in Chicago on August 11 2018.

She successfully organized with her management team and some of her partners, the first International Community Tourism Conference and Community Tourism Study tour from November 12 -15 2018 at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus which had as its theme “ BUILDING COMMUNITIES AS BUSINESSES” which was very successful and has now paved the way for the further implementation of transforming local communities – inclusive peaceful, caring and enterprising neighbourhoods in association with the International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT), Making Connections Work UK/Diaspora Connect 2022 and Countrystyle Villages as Businesses
