{"id":558,"date":"2020-02-19T10:59:55","date_gmt":"2020-02-19T10:59:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/visitcommunities.com\/jamaica\/?p=558"},"modified":"2020-02-19T11:00:24","modified_gmt":"2020-02-19T11:00:24","slug":"community-tourism-center-outline-for-jamaica-and-the-caribbean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/visitcommunities.com\/jamaica\/community-tourism-center-outline-for-jamaica-and-the-caribbean\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Tourism Center Outline For Jamaica and The Caribbean"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">Community Tourism Center<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCOUNTRYSTYLE COMMUNITY TOURISM NETWORK\/VILLAGES AS BUSINESSES Community Tourism Centres will be located in different communities in Jamaica and the Caribbean.The proposed plan is for these Community Tourism Centres, serving both local and international visitors and community entrepreneurs, to include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> <strong>Information Centre<\/strong> &#8211; including marketing of community lifestyle experience tours, potential community entrepreneurial projects for investment and marketing, available training programmes from The UWI Open Campus and the Academy for Community Tourism;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2) Training Centre<\/strong> &#8211; providing niche marketing training in lifestyle businesses and community development, featuring CCTN\u2019s Community Tourism 5 day Entrepreneurship training programme and Basic Hospitality Skills course and relevant UWI Open Campus courses;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3) Internet Cafe<\/strong> &#8211; providing administrative support for communities, a research centre for local and international students and internet access for local and international visitors;<\/p>\n<p><strong>4) Holistic Restaurant<\/strong> &#8211; providing healthy menus utilizing local fruits, vegetables etc.;<\/p>\n<p><strong>5) Community Museum<\/strong> &#8211; showcasing the heritage, culture and lifestyles across the Caribbean;<\/p>\n<p><strong>6) Community Theatre<\/strong> &#8211; offering special cultural performances by arrangement;<\/p>\n<p><strong>7) Community Tourism Research Library<\/strong> &#8211; providing information on diverse niche markets, sustainable\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 community development and cultural marketing;<\/p>\n<p><strong>8) Community Gift Shop<\/strong> featuring locally made village art, crafts, and souvenirs featuring Countrystyle\u2019s CUPID CRAFT brand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0It should be noted that all services do not have to be located in one facility but need to be offered nearby the Community Tourism Centre.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1>ABOUT COUNTRYSTYLE COMMUNITY TOURISM NETWORK (CCTN)<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>MISSION <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To support the development of community tourism in Jamaica, the Caribbean and internationally while educating all stakeholders of its importance to the cause of peace, poverty alleviation and sustainable development and to offer local and foreign visitors diverse \u2018community experience\u2019 vacations and tours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OBJECTIVES <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To promote partnerships with the public and private sector; \uf0b7 To educate and foster understanding of all community assets;<\/li>\n<li>To serve as a meeting ground for practioners and stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>To encourage the economic development of a community;<\/li>\n<li>To share the best practices and resources internationally of sustainable community tourism;<\/li>\n<li>To provide resource information on funding agencies and organizations;<\/li>\n<li>To foster peace and understanding through community initiatives;<\/li>\n<li>To develop marketing strategies for communities;<\/li>\n<li>To ensure the protection of community business interests and products;<\/li>\n<li>To build capacity in sustainable community tourism promotion and development;<\/li>\n<li>To represent community enterprises and assisting them to develop their vision;<\/li>\n<li>To assist in the development and promotion of community tours;<\/li>\n<li>To provide information for local and overseas visitors;<\/li>\n<li>To facilitate investment and grant funding for community business projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ACADEMY FOR COMMUNITY TOURISM (ACT) <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Employees are a company\u2019s greatest asset; rightly trained and motivated they give a competitive advantage in a demanding economic environment.\u00a0 Jamaica and the Caribbean region is dependent on Tourism.\u00a0 It is therefore crucial to provide guests\/visitors with a first-class experience so that their trip is memorable, and they will become repeat visitors and tell others of the wonderful time they had.
